“There were so many things that attracted me to the Jeti Mira,” recalled Ara. “First was the extremely high-quality colour output. We’re now able to present prototypes to many more marketing firms to win over their clients’ business. In fact, we can now offer exceptional prototypes to other different markets we didn’t attempt to go after previously. Also important is that we now use larger sheets and larger tables. The Jeti Mira allows us to produce quality large-format full-colour printing at high speeds on corrugated – many of them short-run jobs.”

But there were other features that also led to his decision to go with Agfa Graphics’ technology. “Our new press is not only much faster, it also uses UV LED – so there are no heat or other issues. It’s especially ideal for backlit applications. It can handle several different types of media and that, in turn, expands our applications. We can do spot varnish now, produce more eye-catching tradeshow graphics, output stunning samples from supplied photographs, even do 3D printing on Plexiglass! And through all this, the support from Agfa Graphics Canada has been excellent. They really give fast service and have been dependable partners.”

This Jeti Mira flatbed printer can accelerate the printing process to 231 m²/hr. via its dockable roll-to-roll extension. The moving-gantry flatbed can output up to 2.69 m-wide prints, and features LED curing and advanced 3D Lens Technology for 3D printing. It produces print quality in six colors (CMYKLcLm) and white, with optional (3D) varnish or primer. Its Agfa-made UV LED inks have a wide colour gamut and high colour vibrancy for both indoor and outdoor applications. Providing outstanding adhesion – even on the most difficult substrates – these inks are one of the industry’s best options in terms of flexibility, image longevity and outdoor resistance. The inks can also print on heat-sensitive substrates, thus broadening the scope of possible applications.
